Editorial Policy

The principles, processes and commitments that govern every guide and recommendation published on ChayanKart.

Last updated: Jun 28, 2026

1. Our mission

ChayanKart exists to make buying decisions in India easier. Most affiliate review sites publish only what they're paid to push, hide their methodology, and never disclose what they considered and rejected. We do the opposite: we publish the scoring formula, we publish the rejections, and we earn through standard affiliate commissions whose rate has zero influence on rank.

2. Editorial independence

No brand, retailer, or distributor has ever paid ChayanKart to include, reject, score, copy-approve, schedule, or promote a product. The editorial team has zero authority to adjust scores in exchange for placement. Affiliate revenue is collected post-purchase from the destination marketplace — the commission rate is identical regardless of which product within a category we rank #1, so there is no economic incentive to favour one brand over another.

This is enforced structurally: the team that researches products and the team that runs affiliate links are separate functions, and Research Desk sign-off is required before any guide goes live.

3. How we research products

Every buying guide passes through nine steps before publication:

The full process is documented on the Editorial Desk page.

4. How the Chayan Score works

The Chayan Score is a 0–100 number combining five public, weighted signals:

The full formula, weights, version history, and calibration data are published on the methodology page — anyone with the source numbers can reproduce a score from scratch. Methodology changes are versioned and announced. Scores below 50 are not recommended and appear on the Rejection List.

5. Affiliate disclosure

ChayanKart earns through affiliate commissions when readers click a marketplace link and complete a purchase. The destination retailer pays us — readers pay nothing extra, and we never see your purchase details, payment information, or shipping address. The commission rate is identical across recommended products within a category, so we have no economic incentive to favour one over another. Full breakdown is on the affiliate disclosure page.

6. Corrections policy
