The short version
We collect the minimum required to run a useful site. Anonymous analytics about which pages are popular, your email if you subscribe, and standard server logs for security. We don't sell your data. We don't run third-party advertising trackers. We don't share with brands.
What we collect
1. Anonymous analytics
We use Plausible Analytics (or Cloudflare Analytics) — privacy-friendly tools that do not use cookies, do not track you across sites, and do not collect personal information. We see aggregate stats like which pages are popular, which countries readers are from, and which sources they came from. We never see who you are.
2. Newsletter email (only if you subscribe)
If you submit your email to subscribe to our weekly newsletter, we store it in our email service provider (MailerLite or Beehiiv) only to send you the newsletter. You can unsubscribe at any time using the link in every email. We will never sell, share, or rent your email.
3. Contact form submissions
When you submit our contact form, your name, email, and message are sent to our team via Formspree (or similar). We store these only to respond to you. We do not add you to any marketing list.
4. Standard server logs
Our hosting provider (Hostinger) keeps standard server logs for security and debugging purposes — IP address, user agent, request paths, and timestamps. These are retained for ~30 days and used only for technical operations.
What we do NOT collect
- No advertising trackers. No Google Ads, Meta Pixel, programmatic ad networks, or third-party retargeting.
- No personal data profiles. We don't build profiles of you.
- No data resale. We have never sold, and will never sell, any user data to any third party.
- No social media tracking. Our share buttons (if any) do not phone home to social platforms unless you click them.
Cookies
ChayanKart does not use any first-party advertising or tracking cookies. The only cookies set by our site are essential technical cookies for things like newsletter form state. Affiliate redirect URLs (Amazon, Flipkart, etc.) may set their own cookies on their domains when you click through — these are governed by those marketplaces' privacy policies, not ours.
Affiliate disclosure
When you click an affiliate link on ChayanKart and complete a purchase, the merchant pays us a small commission. The merchant — not us — tracks the purchase for commission attribution. We never see your purchase details, payment information, or shipping address. See our full disclosure.
Your rights
Under India's Digital Personal Data Protection Act 2023 and equivalents like the EU GDPR, you have the right to:
- Access any data we hold about you (in practice, just your newsletter email if you subscribed)
- Correct any data we have
- Delete your data — including unsubscribing from the newsletter
- Withdraw consent at any time
- Request data portability
To exercise any of these rights, email privacy@chayankart.in and we'll act within 30 days.
Children's privacy
ChayanKart is not directed to children under 13. We do not knowingly collect data from children. If you believe we have inadvertently collected such data, please email us and we will delete it.
Changes to this policy
If we change this policy materially, we will update the date at the top of this page and notify newsletter subscribers via email.
